You get a printable gift certificate by email. On the date you choose, we email your loved one to say you’ve given them the gift of their life story.

Step 3: They book their first conversation
They answer a few short questions and choose a time to meet their interviewer. It’s already paid for, so there’s nothing to decide: the conversations simply begin. Most books are ready 8 to 10 weeks after the first interview.

Is it a printed book?
Basic is a digital book, not a printed one. It is beautifully designed and turns like a real book on any phone, tablet or computer. You can download it to keep forever, share it with the whole family, and print it yourself if you like. Printed hardcover copies come with our larger packages.
What does my loved one receive, and when?
On the date you choose, we email them to say you’ve given them the gift of their life story, with a link to get started. You also get a printable gift certificate to print, frame or forward. The book itself comes later. Most books are ready 8 to 10 weeks after the first interview.
Can I give it in person?
Yes. Print the certificate and hand it over yourself. Choose that day as the send date, so our email arrives just as they open it.
What if they feel shy about it?
Many people do, at first. The first step is a free, relaxed call with no pressure. Their interviewer starts with easy, happy memories and follows their lead.
When is my card charged?
When you complete the secure Stripe checkout. Gifts are paid up front, so your loved one never sees a bill.
